Causal Queries
— Refer to questions that seek to understand the cause-and-effect relationships between variables. These queries are central to causal inference, which is the process of identifying causality rather than mere correlation. For example, instead of just asking if there is a correlation between two variables (e.g., does ice cream sales increase with temperature?), a causal query would aim to determine whether one variable causes the other (e.g., does higher temperature
cause
an increase in ice cream sales?).
